How We Met: High School Sweethearts

Chris and I met in highschool art class. He was a freshman and I a junior- yes I know what you're thinking. He was the one guy that I just could not figure out. He was quiet with a big smile and always left me wondering what he was thinking. We had art class together second semester starting in January. At first he started out at the end of the table and by the end of the year he was sitting across from me. Our conversations actually consisted of talking about how his family raised Imu's and that growing up we had a small farm ourselves- we both grew up in the country. Did I mention that he was a very good artist. I on the other hand was in Art class because I did not want to take choir and I needed one or the other for credits to graduate. Most of the time, unbeknowns to the art teacher, Chris woulf either finish my projects or at least help me out, especially when we had to draw our hand and my thumb looked completely deformed.
He got the courage up to ask me to the Valentines Banquet. I actually picked him up and drove us to the restaurant because he was only 15 and I was 17-remember, I was robbing the craddle! The rest is history. We dated all thru high school and all but two months of college.
Dating that young was challenging at times. I wouldnt trade him for the world and I would do it all over again. He was my first REAL kiss and I his. He always said the girl he kissed was the girl he'd marry and HE DID!
August will be our 8 year anniversary. Time flies when you're having fun.
